Southland Tales

a mishmash of literary citations, interpolated music videos, and movie references. Its mode is high-octane sci-fi social satire thick with drugs, paranoia, and time-travel metaphysics. It's filled with throaway gags and trippy special effects.

Those hipsters who saw the cult-classic Donnie Darko will be thrilled to know that its director Richard Kelly premiered the much awaited follow-up, Southland Tales. The film was in competition at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival with another great director Sophia Coppola for Marie-Antoinette, a Kirsten Dunst movie

The film will tell the final three parts of the story. A series of three graphic novels will be released in addition to the film which obviously will stand as prequel

Looks more genius and bizaare than Darko. I'm thrilled.
